Xander
"If I had a hand, it would probably be disabling. The fact that I have one arm is really irrelevant.", says Keith Alexander, aka Xander, who came in to play a TreehouseSession as one of the first
artist ever on the show.
Here is the story of Keith Xander, who, despite having one arm, is making quite a name for himself as a guitarist:
Keith was born in Canterbury on March 8th, 1979 and started playing guitar when he was fifteen years old. "When I started senior school, the music teacher
told me that it was impossible to play guitar with one arm."
It wasn't until the music teacher was replaced by a guy called Mark Jackson - who actually had a soul - that he began playing.
Mark pointed out that the split hook attachment was like a pick, so a piece of broken ruler was quickly secured and the first E chord strummed!
"I rushed home and showed my Brother Stuart what I could do and he taught me loads of stuff - Hendrix and Clapton mainly.
These were songs I always dreamt of playing and I was playing them - Magic!"
"I would like the mechanical prosthetic encrusted in diamonds, because they'd look lovely under the lights!"
